Summer is almost here and we know everyone is beyond ready to be outside. If you’re looking for some fun and safe things to do this summer, look no further. Check out our list of outdoor social distancing activities you and your family can do this summer.
Hiking Spots
- Explore the outdoors in Johnson County.
- Go hiking, biking, running and more in Linn County.
- Visit Benton County’s beautiful nature trails as well as a 21-hole disc golf course!

Farmer’s Markets
- Order Online at the Iowa City Farmers Market. Carts open on Tuesday at noon, and the deadline for orders will be Wednesday at noon or until the pick-up windows are full. Register here.
- Cedar Rapids Farmers Market is hosting a ‘drive-thru’ market on June 6th and June 20th. Orders must be placed online. For directions and more information, visit here.
Water Fun
- Lake McBride Boat rentals – social distance on a paddle board, kayak, pedal boat or canoe.
- Pinicon Ridge Park – Call for a reservation of a paddleboat, canoe or kayak.
